Tuesday, September 19, 2017 session at the JICC Conference Room

After a successful three day seminar in Nairobi courtesy of Andi Schreiber Sensei, Klaus Sensei and Marianne Sensei, the week kicked off with Joshua Kohai taking us through the warm up session followed by Mae, Gyaku, Yoko and ushiro Ukemi all from Tachi Waza.

What followed next was as follows:

TACHI WAZA :

-Sankyo (Omote & Ura) from an Uchi Kaiten Nage opening.

-Katatedori Shiho Nage (Omote & Ura).

-Yokomen Uchi Shiho Nage (Omote & Ura).

-Koshi Nage from an Ai Hanmi Katatedori opening.

We called it wraps with Haishin Undo .

Tuesday, September 12, 2017 session at the JICC Conference Room

The day's session kicked off rather slowly but nevertheless it began with a brief warm up session courtesy of Joshua Kohai and we were priviledged to have among us Marianne Ostermayer Shidoin (Godan) from the Aikikai Basel dojo in Basel, Switzerland and Klaus Lehan (Yondan) from the Aikido Ikeda dojo-Zurich who joined us later on.

Ostermayer Sensei guided us through the following (all executed from Kiawase):

TACHI WAZA:

Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo Omote.

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Shiho Nage Omote (different version).

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Kote Gaeshi (different version).

Ostermayer Sensei stressed on the importance of maintaining balance and having contact with each other (Uke & Tori) especially in Kiawase.

Thursday, September 7, 2017 session at the JICC Conference Room

Walter Kohai kicked off the session with various warm up drills followed by Mae, Ushiro & Yoko Ukemi from Tachi Waza as well as a Shikko 'marathon' before embarking on the day's attacks/techniques which featured among others:

TACHI WAZA :

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Shiho Nage Omote.

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo Omote & Ura.

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Kokyu Nage version.

-Shomen Uchi Irimi Nage Ura.

-Shomen Uchi Kote Gaeshi Ura.

-A version of Ude Kimenage from an  Ai Hanmi Katatedori static position (Kakarigeiko).
