The year 2015 kicked off on a high note as there were five newcomers who showed up to find out more about Aikido. I met two ladies who had arrived earlier although they left before they could speak to Toshikuyi Sensei. A lady and two gentlemen later joined us and decided to watch from the sidelines as we "did our thing".
As we waited for Sensei, we did some Ukemi and went through a few attacks/techniques to remind ourselves of what we had learnt last year.
Toshiyuki Sensei was present and after a good body workout followed by Mae and Ushiro Ukemi from both Suwari Waza and Tachi Waza, he guided us through the following:
-The opening of Tai no Henko.
-Katatedori Kokyu Ho.
-Katatedori Shiho Nage in both Omote and Ura.
-Ryote dori Tenchi Nage.
Sensei explained to us the meaning of 'Shi' and 'Ho' as well as the finer details in executing the techniques mentioned above.
The session came to an end with Zagi Kokyu Ho as well as Haishin Undo.
