Thursday, April 3, 2014 session at the JICC conference room

There is a Swahili saying that says:"Hayawi hayawi mwishowe huwa"....finally our own Sarah Sempai took us through her very first Aikido teaching experience and I must say she did well.

Sarah Sempai gave us some valuable tips on using Uke's energy among other things which she learnt during the recent Rwanda seminar.

What stood out for me most was using one's palm to make Uke fall which apparently works since it's uke's energy that brings them down. Omedetogozaimasu Sarah!

Back to the techniques of the day, Sarah Sempai took us through the following:

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo, Nikyo,Sankyo and Irimi Nage (all Omote) respectively.

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Sankyo Ura.

Sarah Sempai also took us through the various steps when executing a technique i.e. Tenkan as well as the various ways of neutralising an attack from a static position from both the Ai Hanmi Katatedori and Katatedori stances.
